Nav-CARE Training

The Volunteer Navigator is an essential part of the Nav-CARE program. Navigators are paired one to one with adults living with chronic illness, increased frailty or social isolation to support them with their social, emotional, and practical needs. Training consists of 6 online modules & 2 in-person training sessions

General Volunteer Training

The Greater Trail Hospice Society provides a 20-hour training workshop over two weekends each Spring and Fall. This education includes theory about what to expect as a person's illness progresses, symptom management, the dying process, grief, spirituality, volunteer roles and responsibilities, practice with communication skills, and more.

Our next workshop takes place over the following two weekends: 

April 11th-12th & 25th-26th: 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on the Fridays and 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on the Saturdays

Grief Support Training

The Greater Trail Hospice Society provides a 20-hour training workshop, over two weekends. Join us to learn how grief progresses over time, how grief impacts mind, body and spirit, how to support someone in their grief, how to help people make meaning of their grief, and more!

May 9th-10th & 23rd-24th: 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on the Fridays and 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on the Saturdays
